Balfour Beatty, the international infrastructure group, today announces it has been selected by Cambridgeshire County Council to deliver design and build works as part of a new LGSS framework.
The large capital works framework which is operated by LGSS – one of the largest public sector shared service ventures in the UK – is open to all public sector bodies across Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire, providing customers and partners with tangible financial benefits.
Balfour Beatty has been selected to deliver the largest of the five lots of the framework alongside four other leading contractors and will be responsible for projects valued at over £15 million. It is anticipated that the four year framework will be worth in excess of £350 million.
Balfour Beatty is an experienced public sector contractor with its current portfolio including the UK’s largest flood prevention scheme in Blackpool, improvement works to Wokingham market place, the creation of a new junction and link road on the A9 dual carriageway in Perth and the upgrade of Gobbins Coastal Path in Northern Ireland.
