Balfour Beatty plc, the international infrastructure group, is pleased to announce the following changes in its Board composition, effective from the dates shown below:
Executive Directors
Andrew McNaughton
Further to the announcement on 22 March of the retirement of Anthony Rabin, Deputy Chief Executive which will be effective from the end of June 2012, the Board is delighted to announce that Andrew McNaughton will assume the role of Deputy Chief Executive. Andrew, who has been Chief Operating Officer for the past three years, will also assume Anthony‘s responsibilities for the Group’s Infrastructure Investments Division.
Non-Executive Directors
Maureen Kempston Darkes
The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Maureen Kempston Darkes as a Non-Executive Director with effect from July 2012. Maureen joined General Motors in 1975 and held a number of increasingly senior roles during her time with the business, culminating in the role of Group Vice-President, General Motors Corporation and President, Latin America, Africa and Middle East. A lawyer by training, she has a portfolio of Non Executive Directorships: Brookfield Asset Management Inc, Bridgepoint Health Foundation, Enbridge Inc, Canadian National Railway and Irving Oil Company.
Robert Walvis
Robert Walvis, Senior Independent Director, will retire from the Board on 31 December 2012 after over 10 years with the Group. Iain Ferguson, currently Chairman of the Remuneration Committee, will additionally assume the role of Senior Independent Director, with immediate effect.

We are delighted to welcome Maureen Kempston Darkes to our Board. Balfour Beatty has an increasing focus on vertical industry sectors and emerging markets and the considerable experience Maureen will bring to Board discussions in these areas will add further strength and depth as we move forward with the next phase of our strategic development.”
Neither Maureen Kempston Darkes nor her connected persons hold any interest in Balfour Beatty securities. There are no other disclosures under Listing Rule 9.6.13.
