What you'll be doing
- Review accounts transactions including plant returns, material receipts, GRN’s etc to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Interfaces directly with project staff to ensure projects receive adequate support and guidance from the site support function. Keep up to date with any changes to R12.
- Understand Balfour Beatty’s commitment to the Prompt Payment Code and look to query / resolve invoices in a timely manner. Liaise with other departments within BBVS to gain approval for invoices where required
- Maintain awareness of and compliance with the Integrated Management System
(BMS). Ensure that all relevant Health & Safety requirements are met, and safe working practices are adopted at all times.
- Liaise with the Supplier Invoices Team in Newcastle (Shared Services Centre) to
upload JV invoices into R12 where not delivered by Tradex.
- Report to Finance Manager on issues pertaining to processes. Work with Assistant
Project Accountant to drive efficiencies across the wider business.
- Review Timesheet Portal timesheet entries when required to verify time spent on the project.
- Work with the wider Finance team to ensure that effective and efficient control
mechanisms are always maintained in the ledgers
Who we're looking for
Essential
- Willing to study / Early stages AAT.
- Awareness of cost control.
- High level of Integrity.
- Proactive a diligent nature with a can-do attitude.
Desirable but not essential
- Ideally Site Support experience understanding the relationship between costs and the overall finance position.
- Detailed knowledge of R12.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with previous experience in working on a large fast-moving construction project.
- Ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels of the business
