As a result, alongside several consortium partners; Balfour Beatty have been selected by BP (British Petroleum) to construct a first-of-a-kind fully integrated gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage which is a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK’s first decarbonised industrial cluster.


Balfour Beatty is seeking a Temporary Works Coordinator to manage the design, delivery and implementation of temporary works contributing to the Net Zero Teesside project based at our new site in Redcar and Cleveland.

What you'll be doing


  • Compile and periodically update a Temporary Works Schedule.

  • Ensure that adequate Temporary Works designs are carried out

  • Supervise and manage Temporary Works Supervisors

  • Prepare/review the design briefs and ensure design, checking and construction are aligned with the construction programme.

  • Manage Temporary Works design change process.

  • Ensure that Temporary Works Design Check Confirmation/Approvals are issued

  • Ensure that construction is only carried out from drawings Issued ‘for Construction’

  • Check integrity of materials, structures and equipment before use.

  • Carry out inspections of temporary works prior to hold points, loading/unloading 

  • Ensure that erected temporary works are maintained

Who we're looking for


  • Experience as Temporary Works Coordinator on a major project.

  • Completion of CITB Temporary Works Coordinator training course.

  • Must have undertaken the role of Temporary Works Coordinator within the last 2 years.
