About the role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled Section Engineer to join our dynamic Regional Civils business unit, supporting projects across the South East, specifically in the Eastbourne region working on our A22 Highways Project.


This role offers the chance to work on high-profile infrastructure projects, contributing to the successful delivery of essential civil engineering works while developing your career with a leading construction company.

What you'll be doing

You will have the following:



  • Carry out complex setting out

  • Provision of ‘primary’ setting out control and recognizes the optimum location for installation

  • Actively uses the Specification as a reference document

  • Maintains a comprehensive filing system of quality records

  • Produces Method Statements and Risk Assessments

  • Prepares and raises Temporary Works Brief

  • Carries out ‘short term’, Visitors Induction

  • Completes Accident Book and associated reports as required

  • Produces a weekly programme and measures progress against KPI’s

  • Communicates weekly programme and targets to the workforce

  • Collates Weekly Measure information and monitors wastage against budget allowances / KPI’s

  • Carries out a labour and plant reconciliation

  • Identifies items of additional work and raises the necessary notifications

  • Works to specific terms, conditions and outputs of relevant subcontractors and suppliers.

Who we're looking for

You will have the following:



  • BSc/HNC in Civil Engineering

  • Setting Out using GPS experience

  • Experience of working on a Civil Engineering Highways Project

  • NEC forms of contract experience.
