With the increase in requirements for overhead line towers and substation structures to support the UK’s demand for energy distribution, we are recruiting for Skilled Operatives to work in our best-in-class manufacturing environment.


At our factory in Hereford, you’ll have the opportunity to be trained on our state-of-the-art machinery where we’ve recently invested in excess of £3 million to support the growth of the business, including high-definition plasma cutting machine, fibre laser cutting machine and also three state of the art steel processing machines.


This work is carried out on a shift pattern, with a premium payable. Hourly rates for this role, depending on experience, are £13-15 on a base 37.5 hour week contract.

What you'll be doing

The successful candidate will:



  • Operate both CNC and manual equipment to fabricate steelwork;

  • Operate within the Fabrication, Bundling & Overhead Line Stores area
    moving materials and general duties as required to support all operations;

  • Work safely at all times following risk assessments and work instructions
    and maintain a clean working environment;

  • Embrace our Zero Harm approach to safety;

  • Produce quality product in line with business Quality Management System;

  • Work effectively and efficiently to meet production demands;

  • Contribute to our Continuous Improvement approach and actively help to
    reduce waste in our processes;

  • Undertake any other duties as required.

Who we're looking for

The following qualities/experience are essential:



  • A positive and enthusiastic outlook and support a 'can do' attitude;

  • Be reliable and support a continuous improvement culture;

  • A willingness to learn and embrace new ideas;

  • Ability to work as part of a team and be self-motivated;

  • A good understanding of Health and Safety and can maintain and safe
    and clean working environment.


The following experience is desirable:



  • Experience in a steel fabrication environment;

  • Experience in working in a factory environment using CNC/manual
    machinery;

  • Ability to use air and electric hand tools, grinders, etc.;

  • Ability to read drawings and understand and complete documentation relating
    to processes within the workplace;

  • Experience in the operation of overhead cranes and plant;

  • Experience in forklift truck and telehandler operations;

  • Computer literacy.
