About the role

At Balfour Beatty, we are looking for a Document Controller to join our Regional Civils team in the South East and play a crucial role in managing and controlling project information workflows. You’ll ensure accurate registration, secure storage, and seamless communication between project teams, designers, subcontractors, customers, and external suppliers. What you'll be doing


  • Information Governance & Control: Manage project documentation, ensuring compliance with ISO19650 and company procedures.

  • Workflow & Process Management: Execute and oversee transmittal processes, maintain registers, and distribute information with proper version control.

  • Collaboration & Support: Provide training and guidance to project teams and subcontractors on document control best practices and systems.

  • Risk & Quality Assurance: Support project teams in identifying risks, ensuring quality control, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Digital & Data Management: Oversee digital information management from pre-construction to project completion, working with tools like BIM360, SharePoint, Aconex, and ViewPoint.

Who we're looking for


  • Proficiency in EDMS (Electronic Document Management Systems) such as BIM360, SharePoint, Aconex, and ViewPoint.

  • Experience in document control and information management protocols within construction or engineering environments.

  • Strong understanding of ISO19650 standards and digital tools.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

  • Experience working on a variety of project types.

  • Proficiency in O365 tools and data management platforms.

  • Willingness to travel as required.
