What you'll be doing
- To assist in the installation of HV Cable Systems, associated accessories and support steelwork
- To ensure personal safety, safety of other personnel and members of the public at all times
- Work within the guidelines of the Company Safety Policy, Quality and Security procedures
- Set personal examples in all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards
- Report all accidents, dangerous occurrences and near miss incidents to his/ her superior
- Ensure all personal protective equipment is clean, serviceable and worn as required
- Ensure all carriageway and footway excavations are correctly signed guarded and lit
- Report and not operate any unsafe plant, equipment or vehicles
- Maintaining personal cleanliness and hygiene
- Immediately inform a senior person of any hazard that places personnel or public at risk
- Only authorised persons use plant and equipment
- Cleanliness / Security of all vehicles, plant and equipment
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe site
- To ensure that all work is carried out to meet Quality requirements
- Assist the team leader at all times
Interacts with:
- Direct team members and supervisors
- Third party providers including Sub Contractors
- Northern Powergrid
- External customers

Who we're looking for
Essential:
- Experience in working with manual handling/ physical environment
- General knowledge of health and safety requirements
- Experience in using hand tools correctly
- Ability to follow functional instructions in English language both spoken and written; carrying them out
reliably and efficiently
- Experience of working in a team environment
- Flexible approach to activities on site
Desirable:
- Valid U.K Clean Driving Licence
- Former construction experience with cables and tunnels
- Health and safety training including Tunnel Academy basic training (Tunnel Safety card)
