Balfour Beatty has featured in New Civil Engineer, showcasing the practical solutions and support systems helping early career professionals thrive as they enter the construction and infrastructure industry.

In the article, apprentices and early career engineers share how structured guidance, supportive teams and hands-on opportunities are helping them build confidence, develop essential skills and find their footing in fast‑paced project environments.

One of those featured is Balfour Beatty Apprentice Civil Engineer, Tanvi Aytan, who began her career at 16 and is currently working on Transport for London’s Beckton DLR depot expansion project. Speaking about what has helped her grow, Tanvi says: “Having a supportive team around me has made such a difference. My colleagues have always encouraged me to ask questions, get involved and take opportunities - and that’s really helped build my confidence. Being part of a team that wants you to succeed is incredibly motivating.”
