Balfour Beatty has featured on the HR Grapevine podcast in a discussion exploring how artificial intelligence and Microsoft 365 Copilot is helping employees across its business work smarter – and why collaboration between IT, HR and Learning & Development is key to its success.
Speaking on the podcast, Jon Ozanne, Chief Information Officer at Balfour Beatty, explained the thinking behind the company’s approach: “The first lens is about it being an assistant for everybody. We think our employees should have access to the most productive technology they can. We’ve made some choices recently regarding our investment in Copilot that should give everyone access to a digital assistant that’s going to help them find information, help them complete the mundane tasks and give everyone a bit more time back in the day.”
Jon also shared how these outcomes have only been possible thanks to a carefully orchestrated adoption plan, with IT and HR working hand-in-hand to help employees gain new skills and test potential use cases. This partnership has been central to embedding AI into everyday workflows and ensuring the technology delivers real value for people and projects.
