What you'll be doing
Based predominantly on site, you will work alongside a dynamic project team and closely with our client to shape and deliver an impactful communications and stakeholder engagement plan. You will embed a customer-led approach, ensuring local communities, landowners, businesses and stakeholders are informed, listened to and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
You will be:
Developing and delivering a robust stakeholder communication plan using a range of accessible and engaging channels
Acting as the vital link between project delivery teams and internal/external stakeholders
Managing reactive stakeholder enquiries professionally and efficiently, ensuring best-in-class customer responses
Leading local community engagement events, public exhibitions, liaison groups and charity initiatives
Advising on reputational risks and opportunities, working closely with Group Communications where appropriate
Driving internal communications to promote a ‘one team’ culture and reinforce key corporate messages
Producing award submissions, case studies and content to showcase project successes
Overseeing site hoardings, external visuals and information boards in line with brand guidelines
Analysing customer feedback and MAP assessment results to continuously improve communications
Managing budgets and maintaining accurate records in line with contractual requirements
Providing line management support and contributing to the development of future regional communications capability
Who we're looking for
You’ll be an experienced communications professional who is confident operating in a complex stakeholder environment. You’ll bring:
Essential:
Strong community relations and stakeholder management experience
A degree (or equivalent qualification) in communications, marketing, PR or a related field
Experience managing and developing direct reports
Confidence representing a project at face-to-face public events
Excellent writing, storytelling and presentation skills
The ability to translate technical information into clear, customer-friendly messaging
Creativity across multi-media communications channels
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
A collaborative, proactive approach with the ability to influence and negotiate
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
A willingness to travel as required
Desirable:
Experience within construction or civil engineering infrastructure projects
Graphics or video editing skills
Membership of CIPR or similar professional body
Understanding of the regulatory and political landscape within construction
