What you'll be doing
- Lead and manage site activities, teams, and subcontractors
- Deliver works in line with programme, budget, quality, and compliance
- Plan works, allocate resources, and monitor progress on site
- Maintain accurate site records, reports, and documentation
- Implement technical drawings and specifications into delivery
- Ensure effective cost control and resource management
- Identify and manage risks, issues, and changes
- Champion Zero Harm, ensuring safe systems of work and full HSE compliance
- Produce and review RAMS, lead safety tours, and support incident investigations
- Ensure workforce competency, welfare, and behavioural safety standards
- Lead, motivate, and develop teams, setting clear expectations and standards
- Build strong relationships across project teams, supply chain, and stakeholders
- Drive performance, productivity, and continuous improvement
Who we're looking for
- Proven experience delivering substation, HV, or major infrastructure projects in a site leadership role
- Strong track record of running a safe, compliant site and driving a Zero Harm culture
- Confident managing subcontractors, direct teams, and multiple work fronts simultaneously
- Solid understanding of programme delivery, sequencing, and short-term planning
- Commercial awareness — able to manage costs, resources, and change on site
- Comfortable interpreting technical drawings and specifications and turning them into delivery
- Decisive, resilient, and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Clear and credible communicator — able to influence at all levels on site and with stakeholders
- Proactive mindset with a solutions-led approach to problem solving
