About the role

Job Title: Site Agent

Location: Bridge Of Allan

Project Type: Civils

Company: Balfour Beatty Group

Balfour Beatty is a leading national infrastructure and construction company with more than a century of heritage in Scotland, delivering key projects that strengthen communities and improve national connectivity.

The Bridge of Allan Flood Defence Scheme is a major £16 million infrastructure project designed to protect the town from rising flood risk and deliver long‑term climate resilience for the community. Recently approved to progress to contractor procurement, the scheme will introduce upgraded flood‑protection walls along key routes including Allanvale Road, Cornton Road and Fountain Road, new flood‑defence bunds at Inverallan Road and nearby industrial sites. Altogether, it will safeguard 87 properties and 700 metres of roadway from flooding caused by the Allan Water, replacing ageing 1980s defences which are no longer fit for purpose in the face of increased extreme weather events. This is a high‑impact, community‑critical project that forms part of Scotland’s national Funding of Flood Scheme Protections programme.

Professionals joining the project team will be part of a transformative civil engineering scheme that improves public safety, protects homes and businesses, and contributes directly to Scotland’s climate‑adaptation strategy. Candidates will gain hands‑on experience delivering complex water‑retention structures, resilience infrastructure, stakeholder‑driven design solutions, and sustainable construction practices, making this an ideal project for those seeking meaningful, community‑focused engineering work with long‑term legacy.
