About the role


We have an exciting opportunity for a Traffic Regulation Officer to join our UKCS Living Places business unit in Southampton. In this role, you will take ownership of delivering traffic regulation schemes from initiation through to completion, ensuring high-quality, compliant and timely outcomes for our clients and colleagues.


Success in this role requires excellent analytical, research and communication skills, strong organisational ability, and the confidence to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.


What you'll be doing

Your accountabilities will be as follows:



  • Manage the end‑to‑end process for highway regulation schemes

  • Identify regulatory requirements for highway improvement projects and new developments

  • Draft legal documents, project briefs and reports

  • Coordinate with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure deadlines, schedules and scheme requirements are met

  • Research, analyse and provide advice on legal and regulatory matters

  • Liaise with stakeholders including senior management, ward councillors and organisational leaders

Who we're looking for


You will bring:



  • A degree or equivalent experience

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Excellent communication skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Strong analytical and research skills

  • The ability to work effectively both independently and within a team


An understanding of traffic engineering or traffic regulation is desirable but not essential.
