Now, we’re looking for a Senior Buyer to join our Enabling Functions team and support our Regional Civils Business Unit. You’ll play a pivotal role in driving procurement excellence and building strong, performance-led supplier relationships. From negotiating high-value contracts to supporting sustainable procurement initiatives, your expertise will help us deliver value, efficiency, and competitive advantage.

What you'll be doing

As Senior Buyer you will have the following responsibilities:



  • Lead the preparation of tenders and requests for quotations for subcontract, materials, and services.

  • Conduct due diligence and commercial checks to ensure robust supply partnerships.

  • Evaluate tender responses and compile award recommendations for approval.

  • Negotiate contracts that deliver quality, value for money, and savings targets.

  • Build long-term supplier relationships focused on service, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Monitor market trends, identify new suppliers, and lead supplier engagement meetings.

  • Work cross-functionally to embed HSEQ+S principles and commercial objectives.

  • Support work-winning opportunities and deliver sustainable procurement and social value plans.


 

Who we're looking for

The following experience/qualifications are required:



  • Proven senior-level experience in procurement and supply chain management within construction or a related sector.

  • Strong commercial awareness, organisational skills, and a disciplined approach to compliance.

  • Exceptional negotiation skills with a track record of delivering value through complex deals.

  • Experience in running tenders and managing high-impact contracts.

  • Knowledge of Category Management, SRM, and SPM is desirable.

  • MCIPS or equivalent preferred; experience with Oracle R12 is an advantage.
