About the role


Join our Power Commercial team as a Quantity Surveyor and play a key role in delivering complex, high-impact infrastructure projects, most notably the ASTI scheme, a major programme designed to enhance the reliability and capacity of Scotland’s overhead line network.


This role offers flexibility on location, with travel to the Highlands required, and can be based at our Maxim office.


We welcome applicants from any industry with experience of NEC contracts. Power sector knowledge isn’t essential, you’ll gain this through structured training, hands-on learning, and ongoing professional support. If you’re commercially minded and eager to grow, we’ll help you build the expertise you need.

What you'll be doing

Collate project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities


Manage procurement activities and maintain effective supply chain relationships


Drive cost control, ensuring value for money throughout project delivery


Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with internal and external stakeholders


Administer contracts with clients and subcontractors in line with NEC requirements


Support delivery of the Gated Business Lifecycle process


Proactively pursue ongoing professional development and relevant certifications

Who we're looking for

BSc/MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent relevant experience


Working towards, or current membership of, RICS, ICES, or CIOB


Experience working with NEC3 and NEC4 contracts (from any sector)


Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills


High level of commercial awareness with a strong customer focus
