Restoring Nuneham Viaduct, Oxfordshire

Following an intensive ten-week programme of work, rail passengers are now on the move again after our experts worked around the clock to safely reopen Nuneham Viaduct ahead of schedule. The railway between Didcot and Oxford, which carries more than 100 passenger services and 40 freight trains a day, was closed on Monday 3 April after significant movements in the 160-year-old viaduct were detected and it was deemed unsafe for use. Around 800 people have worked nearly 60,000 hours to successfully deliver this complex and challenging project. #ExpertEngineers
