What you'll be doing
As Offshore Agent, you will be responsible for the safe, timely and commercially controlled delivery of allocated offshore and marine works packages. You will act as a key operational link between the construction team, supply chain partners and the client.
Leadership & delivery
- Lead and control offshore and marine construction packages from planning through to completion
- Manage Section Engineers, Site Engineers, offshore client representatives and subcontractors
- Represent Balfour Beatty in client, subcontractor and stakeholder meetings
- Promote and demonstrate the Balfour Beatty Values, with a relentless focus on Zero Harm
Health, Safety & Environment
- Approve, review and improve Method Statements and Risk Assessments
- Coordinate and support accident and incident investigations
- Oversee offshore and site audits, ensuring robust safety and control measures are in place
- Set clear HSE expectations for subcontractors and ensure compliance throughout delivery
Engineering & technical control
- Provide technical leadership for offshore installation and construction activities
- Review and approve supplier technical solutions and methodologies
- Resolve construction issues using experience and industry best practice
- Provide buildability and operational input to design where required
Quality & handover
- Own the full handover process, including completion and certification documentation
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with specifications and quality requirements
- Implement and manage ITPs, NCRs, materials approvals and handover documentation
- Carry out inspections, audits and trend analysis
- Mentor and coach less experienced engineers
Planning, productivity & commercial
- Produce and manage fully resourced programmes
- Monitor progress, productivity and KPIs
- Manage budgets, cost and value for assigned work packages
- Lead the operational procurement and management of subcontractors
- Maintain accurate records and correspondence to support commercial recovery and AfP
Who we're looking for
- Relevant experience delivering marine and/or offshore construction works
- Proven experience in the management of subcontractors and supply chain partners
- Previous experience in commercial and financial control, including cost, value and budget management
- Holds a current UK driving licence
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage client and stakeholder expectations
