Today, Balfour Beatty has launched its Code of Ethics, a framework providing clear direction on the standards, values and expectations that will guide the behaviours of all its employees and supply chain partners in the UK and US.
An evolution of Balfour Beatty’s Code of Conduct, the Code of Ethics moves away from a set of rules and instead is based on a set of principles acting as a guiding beacon. Rooted in Balfour Beatty’s values, set out in the company’s cultural framework, the Code of Ethics will empower employees and supply chain partners to do the right thing and to challenge where others do not; from prioritising health, safety and wellbeing, to standing against bribery and corruption, supporting human rights and fostering inclusion and respect.
The Code of Ethics is integral in ensuring that the company can continue to meet the high standards to which it holds itself accountable. As such, all employees will be asked to complete a mandatory e-learning module and undertake regular training to ensure the Code of Ethics is always front of mind.
In addition, it will also be shared with all of Balfour Beatty’s valued supply chain partners so that all those who work for us and on our behalf can continue to uphold our guiding principles, values, and behaviours.
