What you'll be doing
• Ensure Utility Asset Protection Team carry out regular on-site utilities’ safety inspections, implement recommended courses of action as identified and support any incident investigations.
• Ensure that all protection measures are adhered to, there is a good understanding of those across all internal stakeholders, including process and plant protection, and any new or changed policies are implemented.
• Coordinate with relevant delivery PMs all aspects of any site investigation required for Utilities designs & delivery including trial holes and ensure correct standard and format and records are produced and provided in agreed timescales.
• Setting and managing the budget for the Utilities Asset Protection Team on LTC.
• Ensuring that the scope of works to be undertaken in delivering schemes is clear and understood and that due consideration is given to Safety by Design, including identification, documentation and the mitigation, as far as reasonably practical, of risk in both the construction and operation and maintenance phases
• Collaborate within the Utility Asset Protection Team with any activities related to utilities detection & surveys, including route proofing, training, safe excavations and usage of GPR & Cat &Genny.
• Build and develop the Utility Asset Protection Team to deliver all aspects of the project
requirements. identify training requirements, review the performance of the workforce and ensure delivery of briefings.
• Support the delivery of diversions, protections, removals and assurances, in coordination with the Utilities PM and Utilities Coordinators and complying with their minimum requirements as instructed by BB.
• Ensuring all work is undertaken by the Utility Asset Protection Team is in line with Client’s, Utility companies and Balfour Beatty Processes, Procedures/Specifications
Who we're looking for
• Experience in working with and adhering to SU protection protocols
• Experience of managing Utility asset diversion and survey works.
• Experience of resource planning, management and mobilisation
• Experience of client and stakeholder management
• Firm understanding of and belief to drive health & safety principles in line with Balfour Beatty’s Zero Harm philosophy
