What you'll be doing
As a CAD Technician you will:
- Liaise with the Temporary Works design team and Operations teams to produce a variety of drawings for the delivery of engineering projects such as highways, structures (i.e. bridges), buildings and site plans.
- Work on your own & as part of a team, be willing and able to share technical ability, knowledge to other members of the team whilst being keen to learn new skill sets
- Utilise Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software to prepare drawings in 2D and 3D
- Incorporate engineering design changes into drawings
- Prepare layout drawings of given structure using AutoCAD software
- To be flexible to ensure that deliverable timescales are met, and complete site visits as and when required to support your work
- Drive a Safety by Design approach at all times.
- Actively supports the Balfour Beatty values of Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence and Respect
- Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Har
Who we're looking for
This role requires an individual with the following qualifications, knowledge, experience and personal qualities:
- HNC/HND (or equivalent) Computer Aided Draft & Design
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD.
- Other preferrable skills include:
- Working under a BIM environment (i.e. BIM and knowledge of ISO 19650)
- User capability of Autodesk Civil 3D and Revit
- Experience with co-ordination software (i.e. Navisworks)
- Ideally has some experience of site based activities and a knowledge of construction activities and temporary works
- Able to establish good working relationships with both work colleagues and project operation teams
- Full support will be available from Balfour Beatty if the candidate would like to work towards professional accreditation with the Institution of civil engineers (ICE), for example Eng TECH MICE
- Hold a full UK driving licence
