What you'll be doing
As a Section Engineer, you will take the lead in delivering a package of works providing management of a multi-disciplinary team comprising Site Engineers, Assistant Engineers & Foremen
- Manage performance; monitor the competency of team members and undertake training/ coaching as appropriate
- Carry out field audits and confirm the sufficiency of control documentation
- Guide and coach subordinates in technical requirements and techniques of setting out and is also able to undertake if required
- Guide and coach subordinates in resolution of construction issues, drawing on experience and accepted industry best practice
- Read and determine in formation from drawings, schedules and specifications
- Collate and manage documentation and records into handover.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
- Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights
- Obtained HND/HNC qualification in either Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Highways experience
- 3-5 years experience as a Site Engineer
- Hold a current driving license and CSCS Card. SSSTS or SMSTS qualified
- Strong communication skills with good interpersonal and influencing skills
- Solution orientated approach to issue resolution
- Excellent role model for development of team members and demonstrates required behaviours to align to project and team objectives
- Strong knowledge and management of construction process in one or more of the following areas: Earthworks/Drainage, Pavement, Structures, Roadworks
- Targeting and actively progressing professional accreditation (eg ICE, IHT)

- Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
