What you'll be doing
The Sizewell C (SZC) project requires a Marine Technical Manager to lead all technical / engineering topics related to the offshore works campaign.
The role requires coordinating and systematically documenting and socialising the identification, development, evaluation and selection of offshore logistics, transportation, heavy lifting, large diameter drilling, offshore concrete/grout batching and grouting operations. The role shall lead technical development in these areas to develop a conservative set of design inputs which unlock method-agnostic construction, competitive market engagement and therefore best-for-project solutions. The successful candidate shall lead strategic planning, scoping and management of supply chain engagement to support technical development of solutions in these areas. Majority of this supply chain engagement shall take place in the form of Early Contractor Involvement. Successful candidate shall identify clear strategic objectives of these studies and required scope, programme and deliverables to achieve these.
Successful candidate shall lead an experienced team of methods engineers and consultants. They shall support and coordinate with external design consultant(s) for design of both permanent and temporary works for the development of methods, design briefs and designs, ensuring either compatible with existing designs and client specifications or otherwise informing their change if applicable. The project team includes people internal to the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), lead design consultant(s), internal and external temporary work designer(s), and subcontractors.
The Marine and Tunnelling Portion of SZC is in a period of recruitment and commercial preparation for delivery. Ideally the successful candidate shall possess team building experience and be able to navigate, draft technical inputs for and give advice on the preparation of commercial documents including scope of works, programme, performance specifications and contract packaging.
