About the role

An exciting opportunity for an Electrical Project Manager to join Balfour Beatty to lead work packages of £20m+ within the South East of England working for the Regional Buildings business unit.

What you'll be doing

As an Electrical Project Manager within Balfour Beatty, you will:



• Lead pre-starts with the supply chains and their mobilisation of the project.
• Implement roles and responsibilities of the project team and Supply Chain with the correct competencies aligned to the level of risk, and approvals as per Balfour Beatty requirements/systems and the Building Safety Act.
• Ensure the project and supply chain meet the latest Balfour Beatty policies and procedures.
• Assisting the Project Leadership and operational team in setting and implementing the plan for the Sustainability targets and goals with a focus on Net Zero construction and reduction in environmental impact of buildings.
• Ensure the team run on-site Black hat safety and logistics tours promoting a site safe culture between the different trade contractor supervisors.
• Coordination and implementation of site-wide daily briefings with progress recording and blocker resolution being proactively achieved.
• Programme delivery management for the work package or the whole project including logic and sequencing resolutions with wider project requirements escalating where necessary.
• Accountable for the implementation of short interval control (Short Term Planning) decision-making concerning the overall programme ensuring with digital software is used.
• Coordination and planning of BB construction teams’ work with the understanding of priority to the critical path and earned value analysis.
• Accountable for Integration of the planning and site teams, ensuring clear two-way communication between all parties with accurate records of progress, risk/ blocker identification and mitigation.
• Compliance and integration of credit rules between both planner and site operations
• Enforcing disciplined site records by both the BB construction team and supply chain with culpable delay recognised and proactive mitigating.
• Have an advanced level of knowledge and understanding of M&E standards and regulations and apply this knowledge on site.

Who we're looking for

We are looking for an Electrical Project Manager to join the business with:


 



Professional Chartership with a construction institute (i.e. CIOB, CABE, ICE)
Detailed understanding of construction techniques, methodologies and management principles.
Knowledge of Budgeting and cost control with financial awareness of delivery targets
Detailed understanding of short interval control and programme management. Short-term planning for the overall construction programme.
Understanding of regulatory requirements, British Standards and Building Safety Act.
Detailed understanding of construction-based safety protocols and best practices.
Knowledge of contract negotiation and procurement
Detailed understanding of quality assurance and quality control processes
Understanding of risk management and mitigation strategies
Understanding of environmental sustainability practices and green building sustainability.
Detailed understanding of construction technology and innovation
Understanding of digital implementation and integration with construction methods.
Understanding of Legal considerations and dispute resolution Experience
Experience in leading and developing a small single-disciplinary team.
Previous Construction Management experience within the built environment is required.
Involvement in developing and executing work package/ subcontractor budgets.
Experience with work packages, subcontractor programmes and sort interval control management
Experience with regulatory agencies and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
Advanced experience in handling safety management on construction sites and implementing safety protocols.
Awareness in negotiating contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
Self-sufficient in resolving conflicts and addressing challenges during construction projects.
Experience in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
Experience in overseeing quality assurance and quality control processes
Awareness of implementing environmentally sustainable practices in construction projects.
