Role profile: To support the project management team in the every day management of projects for which they are responsible, in accordance with the Guide to Railway Investment Projects (GRIP), Railway Group, Network Rail’s company standards, and all current applicable legislation including CDM Regulations.


Our Central Rail Systems Alliance offers the unique opportunity to work with partner organisations across the rail industry. CRSA has been created to make a positive impact on the UK track renewals industry by drawing on the strengths of all alliance partners and collaborative working.


Bringing together knowledge and experience in critical rail infrastructure and track renewals, the alliance deploys innovative working methods to realise efficiencies and create a more reliable railway infrastructure.

What you'll be doing

As a Project Management Assistant, you will:



  • Work as part of a project team, assisting to deliver projects to time, cost and quality through various phases in a safe and environmentally responsible manner;

  • Monitor and report programme and progress in accordance with project reporting systems and guidelines;

  • Develop and integrate, effective support systems to enable the Project Manager to manage and control change;

  • Process contractor possession and isolation applications so that they applications are complete and submitted to the prescribed time scales as directed;

  • Monitor contractor performance indicators and provide periodic progress reports;

  • Support the Project Management team in providing a safe working environment at all times during the execution of those projects under their responsibility;

  • Manage generic and site specific methods of working and supply risk assessments to agreed timescale.

Who we're looking for

The successful candidate will have: 



  • Relevant 'on-project' experience including administration duties and report writing;

  • Good interpersonal, IT and communication skills;

  • Awareness of Health & Safety at Work principles;

  • Ability to work as part of a team and to deadlines;

  • Knowledge & experience of working in Rail Project environment (desirable).
