Role Purpose:



  • Alongside the Senior Project Engineer / Project Director and project team with
    accountability for successful project delivery including; planning, design, delivery,
    monitoring, commissioning and handover/close out.

  • Assist with preparation of documents, drawings & specifications to
    facilitate the efficient running of the site construction team.

  • Support the design team with the production of design deliverables/information.

  • Assist with site admin tasks and issue of information to the supply chain and sub contractors

What you'll be doing


As an Assistant Project Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities;



  • Lead and attend project reviews / project meetings

  • Maintain accurate project records (progress, daily diaries etc.)

  • Helps to ensure reports provide relevant information to enable informed, cost-
    effective decisions in line with overall strategy

  • Carry out Safety & Environmental Tours/promote observation and safety
    initiatives

  • Monitor effectiveness of the H&S Management System and implement improvement solutions

  • Assist the Project Manager to lead risk/opportunity reviews, present the Risk Register and recommend/implement changes

  • Management of subcontractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary, such that contractual arrangements are achieved

  • Ensure procurement plans are available in line with the overall project plans, and material/resources/supply chain activities are delivered to meet scheduled deadlines

  • Follow targets/KPI’s in line with project objectives and monitor performance

  • Ensure assurance activities (audits) are undertaken and take appropriate action on findings

  • Ensure production of operational milestones reflect master schedule and customer expectations

  • Ensure that expenditure is in line with the budget and that resources are utilised efficiently to ensure cost control

  • Advocate consistency and reliability of digital data to support successful project delivery


Who we're looking for


Do you have?



  • An organised, innovative and creative Project Engineer with knowledge and
    experience of working on Projects who is proficient commercial/project
    management communications

  • Experience in implementing safe systems of work

  • Experience in managing risks and change processes through solutions-based
    approach to problem solving

  • Good interpersonal skills that enable working relationships to be developed at
    all levels across the business and be able to negotiate and influence

  • Discuss ideas and plans competently and with confidence

  • Proficient on O365

  • Holds or working towards a formal qualification in construction/engineering or
    equivalent industry experience ideally suit a recently qualified Electrically
    biased graduate or electrician seeking further experience.

  • Holds or desire to work towards either the APM PFQ/PMQ

  • Holds CSCS and ideally SMSTS or equivalent
