What you'll be doing
- Carries out periodic Safety & Environment Tours as required by the Project H&S Plan.
- Assists Lead in Incident Investigation and information gathering / review.
- Appraises improvement options and actions / instigates as appropriate.
- Leads periodic risk reviews and takes output forward to the Project Risk Register.
- Monitors effectiveness of the H & S Management System.
- Keeps up to date with changes in legislation and cascades information to the team Engineering Control.
- Ensures that sufficient resources are allocated to the Works Section and that each has an appropriate level of ability.
- Sets targets and KPI’s in line with Project objectives and monitors performance.
- Ensures site audits are undertaken and takes appropriate action on the findings.
- Appraises improvement options and leads / instigates actions as appropriate.
- Implements systems and processes to manage the quality of the constructive works.
- Involved in working groups focused on Improvement Areas
- Overall ownership of Handover Documentation for Section Productivity.
- Carry out constructive analysis of fully resourced programme
- Ensures production of operational target programmes to reflect overall construction programme.
- Chairs prescribed Short Interval Control section meetings to review performance on site.
- Attends and provides reports for weekly project meetings and identifies improvement areas and allocates / implements appropriate actions to team members.
- Involved in the procurement of subcontractors and advises on commercial aspects / preferred attendances.
Who we're looking for
- Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately. Suggests and implements improvements to systems and capable of stopping operations when necessary.
- Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity; experienced at encouraging direct reports to do the same and managing a team to ensure tasks are carried out effectively and key messages cascaded.
- Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights as required by the programme.
- Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility.
- Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card.
- SMSTS qualified.
- Excellent team player and leader, able to work competently and independently without supervision.
- Able and willing to make decisions following consideration of options based on best available information; track record of solution orientated approach to resolve issues,
