What you'll be doing
As a Senior Estimator, you will have the following accountabilities:
- Undertake estimates in accordance with the companies’ policies and procedures.
- Review customer’s drawings and specifications to prepare accurate costing sheets for materials, labour and equipment.
- Oversee and/or interrogate design options and ‘value’ solutions, and if appropriate, identify the attractiveness of a project based on sound estimating principles.
- Mentor and support more junior members of the team.
- Record assumptions and identify risks and opportunities including supporting developing the risk evaluation from a pricing/budgetary point of view.
- Liaise with members of the project team, other BB business units & supply chain to develop and understand methodologies and principles proposed.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
- Infrastructure Main Contractor background ideally in the heavy civil engineering market.
- Previous experience in Estimating of Heavy Civil Engineering Projects Commercial or operational background considered.
- Chartered by relevant industry recognised chartership e.g., ICE, CICES, RICS, CIOB Etc (desirable).
- Proficient in the use of excel and similar software.
