What you'll be doing
As a Senior Track CRE Engineer, you will have the following accountabilities:
- To monitor, engineering and design compliance for all schemes so they comply with the requirements of the Governance of Railway Investment Projects (GRIP), and the GRIP4 for Track process;
- Undertake Contractors Responsible Engineer duties (CRE);
- Monitor the programme teams so they follow the project approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) Process;
- Provide technical support in the detailed planning and execution of all of Track Renewal and Enhancement Works as allocated by the Assistant Renewals Manager;
- Monitor and ensure technical compliance on all works, site and office;
- Attend relevant meetings including Whiteboard/Stage Gate meetings as required;
- Manage the work to meet agreed financial targets, performance KRAs and other KPI’s;
- Manage works in compliance with the CRSA technical specifications, processes and procedures and Network Rail Group and Line Standards;
- Undertake surveys, planning and programming of work, technical supervision on site, preparation of documents;
- Ensure the preparation and submission of Bar Charts/Time Chainage charts;
- WPP’s, task Briefs and other site documentation for all works;
- Undertake safety inspection as stipulated in Alliance procedures and requirements;
- Submit Daily Work Returns (Planned v Actuals) in a timely manner;
- Participate in the Alliance Safety Briefing Programme;
- Support the Senior Renewals Manager in delivering the Alliance Programme as required;
- Assist with the provision of technical and delivery support to the Track and Drainage Senior Engineer, Senior Supervisor and Renewals Manager Team as required;
- Deliver Duty Management and ‘On Call’ as required.
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Good knowledge of Track Renewals Disciplines;
- Excellent knowledge of Rules and Regulations, HASAW and other appropriate regulations, including Group Standards;
- Knowledge of financial controls;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and person management skills;
- Ability to write clear and concise reports and computer literacy;
- Ability to drive;
- HNC in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent);
- PTS and COSS.
