What you'll be doing
Use CAD software to produce 2D & 3D models of structural steelwork.
Provide technical support to project stakeholders e.g. Site operatives, commercial team, fabricators.
Ensure compliance with the Group Minimum Engineering Expectations.
Highlight good/bad practice to ensure continuous improvement.
Manage their own tasks and deliver them to program and budget.
Produce engineering estimates for large sized projects.
Oversee large projects with more than four CAD technicians, managing resource and delivering tasks to program and budget.
Mentor and train senior / CAD technicians.
Check the work of other CAD technicians.
Ensure work is carried out in line with client and industry specifications.
Provide cover when team leader is absent.
Who we're looking for
Excellent standard of literacy & numeracy. GCSE level 6 minimum.
Competent to develop 3D model, produce general arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings and bill of materials for structural steelwork.
Good communication skills.
Strong analytical thinking skills
Attention to detail.
Problem solving.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel.
