Bentley 2012 Be Inspired Special Recognition Award for Sustaining our Society
The Parsons Brinckerhoff and Arup Joint Venture team, responsible for the design of the Brisbane Airport Link projects, is awarded the highest honour in the Be Inspired Awards.

Balfour Beatty Communities’ Fort Carson Military Family Housing Project is named Energy & Sustainability Partner of the Year by the Association of Defense Communities.

Our joint venture with Jones Bros wins Environmental Project of the Year at the Construction News Awards.

RoSPA President’s Award
Birse Civils South Division’s Eastern Region wins the RoSPA President’s Award 13 Aug 2012.

Business Green Leaders Award
Balfour Beatty wins the Business Green Leaders Award for Sustainability Team of the Year based on its worldwide Sustainable Working Group’s success in driving change across the business.

Green Apple Awards
Balfour Beatty picks up six Green Apples at the Green Apple Awards in 2012, significantly improving on last year’s performance.

In the Heavy Construction category, Balfour Beatty Major Civil Engineering wins Gold for its work on Heathrow Terminal 2B and Bronze for the A46 Newark to Widmerpool improvement scheme.

In the Urban Landscape category, Balfour Beatty Living Places wins Silver for its work with Northamptonshire & Cambridgeshire Eastern Shires Street Lighting PPPS.

Mansell wins Gold for its City Depot recycling initiative, as well as Gold in the Building Conservation Project category for its work on Kensington Palace.

Our Joint Venture with Mott MacDonald wins Bronze in the Innovation category for its work on Stocks Green 1.

Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation Awards
Balfour Beatty picks up four awards at the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) Awards.

We take the Sustainability Award for the Balfour Beatty Mott MacDonald joint venture working in Area 2; the Ringway Innovation Award for the King Sheet Piling System used by Skanska Balfour Beatty along Section 1 of the M25 DBFO contract; and the Major Projects Award for the A3 Hindhead team.

Our work on the A3 Hindhead scheme with Mott MacDonald and the Highways Agency also picks up an ACE Engineering Excellence award in the Large Infrastructure category.

Earth Day Award
Balfour Beatty Communities is recognised for its commitment to energy efficiency by the Fort Bliss Directorate of Public Works-Environmental Division with a 2012 Earth Day Award.

Sustain Awards
Balfour Beatty Engineering Services, Modular Systems +, wins Manufacturer of the Year category at the Sustain Awards 2012.

CEEQUAL Awards
Skanska Balfour Beatty Construction Joint Venture wins three Excellent graded CEEQUAL awards for work on two major widening schemes and the major refurbishment of the Hatfield Tunnel.

Sustainability Circle of Excellence Awards
Balfour Beatty Construction (US) wins Sustainability Circle of Excellence Award for achieving high recycling and waste diversion rates.
