- Q. How many undergraduate placements do you offer?
- A. We recruited 60 industrial year placement students and 105 summer placement students in 2008. We anticipate similar numbers for 2009.
- Q. Can I apply if I need a work permit?
- A. Unfortunately we are unable to accept your application for a summer or industrial year placement if you require a work permit, now or in the future.
- Q. When can I expect to hear back after submitting my application?
- A. We will aim to let you know the outcome of your application within four weeks of your application being submitted.
- Q. Can I apply for more than one undergraduate position?
- A. There is no need to apply for more than one position. If your application is unsuccessful - providing you have given your consent - it may enter our central candidate pool should we feel you're suitable for other placements within the Balfour Beatty Group. You may then be contacted should a suitable vacancy arise. This way, we'll do the work for you.
- Q. Does Balfour Beatty provide sponsorships?
- A. We offer a number of sponsorship opportunities to undergraduates on selected degree courses listed in the Sponsorship section. These sponsorship schemes generally require you to apply during your first term at university through your university department. Please contact the university department to obtain further information and advice on proceeding with your sponsorship application. If your university course isn't listed, you may still receive sponsorship following a placement with us. All our placement opportunities are advertised in the Undergraduates section and require you to apply directly to us when at university. In addition, we support the ICE Quest Undergraduate Scholarship scheme and the ConstructionSkills Inspire Scholarship scheme. - Q. Will I be sponsored after my placement?
- A. We sponsor many of the undergraduates who undertake a successful placement with us and many subsequently join on graduation.
