THE APPLICATION FORM IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO SHINE.
YOUR APPLICATION
So now you've decided Balfour Beatty is the Company for you, we want to hear that you're the right person for us.
Remember your application is a professional business proposition, not a text message! So use plain English and proper grammar. If you prepare each section in a word-processing package you can use spell-check to make sure your spelling is correct. There's no need to complete your application in one go either, so take your time, check and re-check before you send it to us.
We're not just interested in your academic achievements - we’re interested in the whole person. Think about the experiences you have had in other parts of your life that show your skills and good qualities and include them too.
Lastly, make sure you complete all sections of the form, including “Interests and Achievements”, which is near the end.
THE RECRUITMENT DAY
Preparation is the key here. Make sure you have the correct time, date and venue well before the Recruitment Day and give yourself plenty of time to get there. Just in case you're delayed on the way, take the Company phone number with you.
Read through your application and refresh your company knowledge. Research exactly what you'll be doing on the day and whether there's anything you need to prepare in advance and bring with you.
Prepare answers to possible questions in advance. For example, think about recent interests and achievements, from any aspect of your life, which you could talk about, ideally ones that haven't already been included on your application form.
