Teachers / Careers service

We appreciate that not only do you educate today’s youth, but they may seek your advice to help guide them when they are selecting their future career options. Whether it’s to continue in education, find a suitable vocational qualification, or find a full time job, there are so many options available. To help simplify this task, we wanted to be clear about the opportunities Balfour Beatty offers, and the support we can provide your school.

Balfour Beatty is a leading international infrastructure group.  For more than 100 years we have created and cared for the vital assets that enable societies and economies to grow: road and rail; airports, seaports, tunnels and bridges; health and education facilities.

Our headquarters are in London and we are a FTSE 250 constituent with a market capitalisation of £1.95bn.

How can Balfour Beatty support my school or college?

If you would like us to come to your school to tell your pupils more about the industry and how Balfour Beatty can help them, simply contact your local Balfour Beatty office. To help us with your request we will need to know the following:

  • When you want the visit?
  • The topic for discussion (i.e. particular project of interest like sustainability)
  • The audience (age range, education level, course disciplines)
  • The length of activity
  • The preferred type of speaker. (i.e. technical specialist, Manager, HR Representative).

We encourage our current trainees to participate in STEMNET (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Network), Young Engineer or other activities to not only support their own development, but to support the next generation. As a result, many of our trainees are trained and Disclosure & Barring Service DBS checked, so they can attend schools and highlight the career opportunities available to your students.

Does Balfour Beatty offer work experience to students and school leavers?
