Balfour Beatty plc confirms negotiations

Balfour Beatty plc, the international engineering, construction and services group, confirms that it is in negotiations with Adtranz with a view to acquiring its rail electrification and traction power business. Should a transaction be successfully concluded it would be funded from internal resources and be earnings enhancing.
