Balfour Beatty is a leading utilities management and maintenance provider, working in long-term, sustainable partnerships with customers in the UK, US and Hong Kong.
Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions is a UK leader in the replacement, rehabilitation, asset extension, repair and maintenance of water and wastewater networks. It works for the UK's largest water companies on two areas of the water lifecycle, clean water and wastewater. The business holds major long-term framework contracts with a range of utilities customers, including United Utilities, Anglian Water, Severn Trent Water, Yorkshire Water and South-West Water.
Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions is also the largest utility solutions provider on the UK gas distribution network and will be working on a large percentage of the network over the next 20 years. This is in line with the Health and Safety Executive's requirement for all cast iron gas mains to be replaced within the next 30 years.
The business has a long-established working relationship with National Grid, including a partnership contract for the Greater Manchester Gas Alliance. Along with Balfour Beatty Management, it was also appointed preferred bidder in 2006 for the £420 million, seven-year gas mains replacement contract for Northern England by Northern Gas Networks.
Other Balfour Beatty businesses provide services for a range of waste water, treatment, gas and oil projects, including Balfour Kilpatrick and Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering. In the US, Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Inc’s portfolio includes water infrastructure and pumping station construction schemes.
Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering has been supplying and installing piles at BP's Grangemouth complex since the early 1960s, one of the largest, most integrated oil and gas complexes in the world. Balfour Beatty Management is working on a number of PetroChem contracts.
