In 2005, Mansell was awarded the first construction phase to redevelop accommodation facilities for USAF staff and their families at RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk
Mansell has since been awarded phases two, three and four
The £14.5 million phase one project was awarded under the Framework Partnering Contract to replace USAF housing stock with 89 new homes
Phases two and three will have a combined construction value of £51.5 million and deliver 261 new homes
Under phase four, a further 74 homes will be created with a value of £16 million
The entire project, for 606 new dwellings, is likely to have an overall value of £127 million once completed
The US Government has very high housing design standards required for its forces serving overseas. The old 1950s and 1960s houses no longer met the standards required for US military personnel and their families
The Mansell team in East Anglia and the USAF have a relationship that goes back to 1945, the end of World War II
