- Balfour Beatty Communities was awarded a contract by the Army
in May 2004 to privatize family homes at Fort Bliss, Texas and
White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. The end state requirement
for the project is 3,408 homes.
- After completing successful negotiations with the Department of
the Army and receiving Congressional approval for the project,
Balfour Beatty Communities assumed full operations for the housing
assets in July 2005.
- This multi-installation project falls under two separate
commands separated over two geographic areas and two separate
municipalities.
- Upon completion of the Initial Development Period, 1,225 homes
will have been constructed and 1,708 homes will have been
renovated.
- Amenities include community center with miniature golf course,
sports courts, tot lots, spray grounds and walking trails.
- The Initial Development Period project costs are estimated to
be $430 million.
- Balfour Beatty Communities is the Managing Member, Developer,
Renovator and Property Manager of this project.
