Balfour Beatty has significant experience in airport infrastructure development in the UK, US, Dubai and Hong Kong. We have, for example, undertaken major airport projects at Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Hong Kong, Dubai and Miami. Projects range from major improvement and expansion schemes to interior fit-out and maintenance.
Regional and City Airports (RCA) is a joint venture established between Balfour Beatty Capital and Balfour Beatty Management to acquire, invest and operate airports. Over the last three years RCA has taken part in a number of acquisition processes and assessed many other potential targets of airports to add to the Balfour Beatty Capital asset portfolio.
RCA has acquired two airports: Exeter and Blackpool Airports, and Balfour Beatty provides senior management to both.
In the US, we have been involved in a wide range of projects including: O’Hare and Midway International Airports, Chicago; Seattle-Tacoma (Sea-Tac) Airport; Reagan National Washington Dulles Airports and Orlando International Airport.
We also have a long-term presence in Hong Kong, including the £800 million terminal building for Chek Lap Kok Airport, plus trackwork and electrification for the fast rail link between Hong Kong and the airport. Other work included the construction of the East Hall expansion structures and reconfiguration of the departure hall at Hong Kong Airport.
